Oral History Preservation and Training

United States Air Force, Air Education and Training Command (AETC)

Avani supports the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and the Air University (AU) with compiling oral history recollections to add to the Air University Library’s digital catalog. We provide historian support to conduct and deliver oral histories, train cadets in oral history techniques, and oversee and schedule USAFA cadets’ interviews with featured participants. Participants include those who have served in recent conflicts, remarkable Airmen, senior officers, and legends of air, space, and cyber power.

Distance Learning Master’s Degree Instructional Management Services

United States Air Force, Air Education and Training Command (AETC), Air University

Avani supported the delivery of online Higher Education courses within the Air University’s Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), Global College of Professional Military Education (GCPME). This support included selecting, training, and orienting online faculty and curriculum development.

The Air Force’s GCPME school, prepares Air Force field grade officers, officers from other Services, and DoD civilians to assume positions of higher responsibility. Enlisted men and women are also included in the target audience.

Gap Analysis and Curriculum Support

United States Army Chaplain Corps

Avani is working with the Chaplain Corps to ensure that Chaplains are equipped with the training necessary to perform effectively. To do so, we are conducting an in-depth gap analysis, providing insights based on the data collected, and utilizing those insights to design and develop curriculum development.

Distributed Learning Education and Training Program (DLETP)

Avani served as a subcontractor to provide the Army with innovative and industry best practices around analyzing, designing, developing, and deploying education and training solutions to soldiers to increase their knowledge and ability to adapt to ever-changing conditions on the battlefield. The training solutions included:

  • Analysis of training effectiveness
  • Development of unit, individual, and self-development training strategies, including Combined Arms Training Strategies (CATS)
  • Conversion of existing courseware to IMI
  • Customization and configuration of authoring systems
  • Conduct of IV&V of training materials and report of results
  • Virtual Mobile Training Teams (VMTT)

Defense Senior Leader Development Program (DSLDP)

Department of Defense (DoD)

Avani is developing and delivering leadership seminars for a selective group of civilians in the DoD. We collaborate with nationally recognized leadership experts in critical leadership competencies, dynamic facilitators skilled in Socratic and experiential learning methods and creative approaches, and DoD Subject Matter Experts. We align the seminar topics with Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and the DoD Civilian Leader Development Continuum, including Team Building, DEIA, DiSC assessments, Leadership 360, and Ethics. We provide International Coach Federation (ICF) certified executive coaches, with 15+ years of experience working as executives in civilian and defense agencies. We also match the coaches with the coachees.

Technical Support for GEAR UP Grantees: Increasing Longitudinal Data Utilization for Performance Reporting and Continuous Project Improvement

Department of Education

Avani spearheaded the creation and management of Data in Gear (DIG), an online resource hub aimed at bolstering the utilization of longitudinal data for performance enhancement and project evolution. Serving as a central platform, DIG facilitated communication with eligible GEAR UP grantees, notifying them of Department of Education solicitations aimed at improving data access and analysis skills. The initiative had two distinct phases: Pre-Award and Post-Award. Phase 1 offered comprehensive resources and guidance for proposal development to all GEAR UP grantees. Phase 2 provided ongoing support and a “members only” section for data utilization awardees to interact.

Improving Graduation Rates and College Readiness in High-Poverty High Schools

Department of Education

Avani provided research, conference planning, technical assistance, and evaluation. The three main components of the contract were:

  • Monitoring and providing technical support to 29 High School Graduation Initiative (HSGI) grantees
  • Offering technical support to a Professional Learning Community (PLC) of five State Educational Agencies (SEAs)
  • Managing a 20-site pilot program to boost Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) applications

Leadership Development Training

Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

As the prime contractor, Avani is partnered is developing and delivering leadership development training to mid-level managers looking to increase their level of responsibility at ICE and advance their careers in government.

Curriculum Development and Process Optimization

DHS - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Avani is equipping Public Assistance field staff with the necessary resources and tools to excel in their roles to contribute to the effective delivery of services and support to communities in need. We are doing so by updating and creating leadership development and experiential learning opportunities, alongside designing, and developing organizational tools such as templates, tracking systems, and shared drives to streamline operations and promote efficiency within the agency.

Principles of Building Construction eLearning Course

DHS - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Fire Academy (NFA)

Avani transformed two instructor-led courses into a single online course using the NFA Online template. The course was made SCORM-conformant and Section 508-compliant based on FEMA guidelines. Avani’s efforts earned a Silver Omni Award for Educational Media

Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Contract

Avani worked on multiple Task Orders for the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, Maryland as part of a five-year ID/IQ contract. We used the instructional design methodology to design, develop, revise course materials for approximately 50 plus courses, covering a comprehensive range of instructional methods, media, and topics ranging from emergency management, leadership, response, recovery, mitigation, and specialized areas such as tribal courses and National Planning Frameworks.
